Well, Sully landed perfectly on the Hudson while other trained pilots couldn't duplicate it in simulation during the FAA inquiry. Just sayin

In meetings all day and have to speak periodically, I’ll get to your OP question later but that’s not true, majority of crews in the simulator were able to get the aircraft back to an airport, they were trying to crucify Sully and he argued, logically, that they knew what was coming but he had to react real time

Yeah if I recall they asked the flight school to learn how to fly but not takeoff or land. How in the hell does that not raise any red flags especially when its young men of middle eastern descent?
Was this actually true or just an urban legend that spawned from a Leno or Letterman joke

Thank you sir
I thought Sully's argument of the other pilots having the upfront scenario allow3d them to pivot instantly whereas he and his right seat had to spend time calculating/assessing other airstrips/etc. Maybe I misunderstood.

If it's a jet liner flying into the Pentagon, let's see the video. And not the security camera footage from the shed by the gate. I'm talking about the hundreds of tapes they confiscated and never released. It was a cruise missile, when the one around Pennsylvania was found way off course from where it was supposed to be (and shot the frick down). No way the CIA allows them to fly into anything they didn't allow it to fly into. Wing of the Pentagon under construction...sure. White House...stop your shite.

all of that seems much more likely than a) making an entire plane of people completely disappear somewhere else or b) have an entire plane's worth of people and all their immediate friends and families be in on the conspiracy and not a single one ever break.
Also all of the people who were sitting in DC traffic literally a tenth mile away on the freeway as the plane flew right above them.

Those hijacker’s could barely take off and land yet somehow pulled off such an elaborate flight and kept it together just in time to plow into the pentagon that even the highest trained US pilots couldn’t do it again
They didn't have to take off and never intended to.

Must have missed all those interviews on TV of people explaining how a Jet liner was taking out light poles on the freeway. Because they didn't happen.

Yes, the simulator pilots could immediately divert to Teterboro and would do so once the simulated incident occurred.

...and 20+ years later, all of the people that would have had to be involved in this massive conspiracy have remained silent?
i don't trust the government either, but come on.

On Aug. 9, 2001, Moussaoui enrolled in Pan American International Flight Academy’s commercial flight simulator training program in Eagan, Minnesota, near Minneapolis. He completed two days of training and a flight simulation. He also raised the suspicions of Pan Am’s instructors: Moussaoui, who had no pilot's license or previous aviation experience, paid thousands in cash for his courses at Pan Am. He also reportedly told Pan Am instructors that he only needed to learn how to take off and land a plane, and that he had no intentions of getting his pilot’s license, instead only wanting to take a "joy ride."

They didn't need to do that as their objective was to hijack the plane in midflight and then crash it into a stationary target.
Also...the lead hijacker of the plane that hit the Pentagon was Hani Hanjour - a trained commercial pilot:
quote:
He returned to the United States in 1996, studying English in California before he began taking flying lessons in Florida and then Arizona. He received his commercial pilot certificate in 1999, and went back to his native Saudi Arabia to find a job as a commercial pilot. Hanjour applied to civil aviation school in Jeddah, but was turned down. Hanjour left his family in late 1999, telling them that he would be traveling to the United Arab Emirates to find work. According to Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Osama bin Laden or Mohammed Atef identified Hanjour at an Afghanistan training camp as a trained pilot and selected him to participate in the September 11 attacks.

Ya, FBI field agent in Arizona(?) filed report on suspicious flight training activity as well involving participants.
People involved did find it weird and reported it.

You mean people at the Pentagon, CIA? They aren't dealing with some underpaid Federal employees here. Military and Espionage...they tend to keep secrets pretty well.

It was a missle.
The great thing about conspiracy theories is, you don't have to prove they are true.

I knew the Captain of AA77, his reserve job was at the Pentagon ironically, if it was a hoax his family would really appreciate it if the hoaxters would let him go home

Thanks for the link, but that doesn't really support the "we only need to learn to fly and not land" tale.
