Sometimes the small-town dealers will do things to stay in the manufacturer's good graces.
All the manufacturers want fewer franchises and the small towns are always on the chopping block.

Not sure if that is the case here, but it's a distinct possibility.

They got that calculation from if you remove all of the government subsidies.

The quantification of the subsidies was questionable and they applied zero subsidy offset to the costs of gasoline. It was a slanted piece written by someone with an agenda or a complete moron.

Colossal Failure: Biden's $7.5B on EV Infrastructure Has Yet to Produce One Single Charger

That’s not really surprising since IRS guidance on most of the IRA incentives are just now tricking out and the loan programs take forever to get to market.

Not saying you're wrong, just how they got there.

You're also possibly the biggest EV evangelist on this entire site, so your post itself isn't without it's own slant.

I’m not. I drive gas and ethanol guzzlers. But I happen to know a shite load about it because I’ve worked with Tesla and large fleets a lot. Buy and EV or not. I really don’t give a frick other than pointing out incorrect info.

But it’s easier for people with o clue what they’re talking about to discredit me by accusing me of being a pumper. I get that but it’s lazy and I’ll point it out every time.

I understand this as I'm far more familiar with the business than most here.

8 chargers in a small town is ridiculous and there is no way Ford demanded he put that setup in to improve his allocations or anything.

The local Chevy dealer has one. That he was forced to put in by GM. Cost $80k.

You're the one on other threads talking about the Model 3 you own that your wife drives. So what is it?

That’s her car. I don’t particularly like it or drive it much. I’m happiest in my GTR or GX.

But keep grasping at straws since you can’t argue on the merits.

"The automaker is asking its nearly 3,000 dealers to invest upward of $1 million for upgrades to sell all-electric vehicles."

"Ford is offering its dealers the option to become “EV-certified” under one of two programs — with investments of $500,000 or $1.2 million. Dealers in the higher tier, which carries upfront costs of $900,000, will receive “elite” certification and be allocated more EVs, executives said."

It's from NBC.

Wait, Bill, are you saying you have more than one car and can logically talk about the merits of an EV and an ICE vehicle?

Exactly. And I think the rural dealers are going to punt this year and see what happens in Nov. If Trump or a republican wins, they likely end this whole boondoggle.
