I lived in the next town over from Wake Forest for over ten years. Not once did I see a supremacist of any sort.

What's the point of this group? To continue remembering a treasonous government? How can you be a full red blooded American and also support this group. Does not make any sense to me.
It's a historical society along the same lines as the Daughters of the American Revolution.

I don't understand how's flying a Confederate flag is Americans. It's just people trying to be different or troll.

Well, maybe we should apply that to the founding fathers as well. Your proud heroes of the Union army moved west to slaughter Native Americans by the bushel. Maybe we should banish them from history as well.

Lol. Cry a little more, ya pussy. The blue-haired old ladies who are members aren't a threat to your candy arse. Maybe they are, though, you're the type to be scared by the word antebellum.

You obviously don’t know me too well and certainly didn’t take a peek at my post history.
It’s a common problem for conservatives, of which I am definitely one. Many conservatives eschew nuance to their own detriment.
I never said they should be forced out, I said they should sit it out, as in choose to do the right thing.
I have no problem with the sons and daughters of the confederacy as a group, although I might add that their relevance has waned to the point of absurdity. There are other and better symbols to use as rallying points for civic societies.
The question really goes to the communal nature of this type of civic parade.
Communities can and do have parades for all sorts of purposes. Some parades are for a cause (cancer awareness), others for protest or support (pro-life; gay pride).
Other parades are simply meant to unite a community under a pure spirit of brotherly love, community pride, and are intended to create a unity of spirit.
The Christmas parade is one of those. It’s a delicate balance, though, because the spirit of Christmas, which is about the underlying message of Christianity, is open enough that it allows for non-Christians to appreciate and participate from a viewpoint that is not expressly Christian.
As soon as you include elements and groups which create tension, the purpose of the unifying parade is diminished.
Having said that, some people and groups, especially SJW activists, will never be satisfied, and they will continue to tear at and destroy the fabric of society.
I just don’t think that at this point in time, the issue of Sons and Daughters of the Confederacy (nice people, though they are) is the right one to make a stand on.
Members of those groups should recognize the greater purpose and separate goal of a Christmas Parade, and participate as individuals and not as a group.
For the record, I vehemently opposed the removal of confederate statues.

quote:This right here. They could have easily said "if it's too much of a concern for safety, we will opt out so the children can enjoy the parade without fear for their safety or well-being". But instead, they dug in their heels and said if we don't walk, you'll have to make the decision to allow potentially violent protests OR cancel it entirely. They're no different that the buffoon SJWs that would come out and protest the group to make cause for concern in the first place
I never said they should be forced out, I said they should sit it out, as in choose to do the right thing.

Nah, I just like to call out people who support traitors like yourself. Why don't you head over to Russia since you hate America so much

I assume this was the point of the stand. They've been a part of the parade for 20 years and now they're suddenly persona non grata because outside agitators are coming in and threatening them. If they just back out, this tactic legitimizes the protesting groups and gives legitimacy to their opinion that this is some neo nazi hate group even though they're just a group of people who clean graves and curate local museums.

Never thought I would get disparaged for hating traitors and loving America. Guess the reports of Russians roaming this site are real

You should don your pussy hat, march to DC, and smash the patriarchy. I'm sure your pansexual fairy kin partner will be super proud of you, xyr.
