I don't feel bad for Cox, they keep raising their rates to the consumer at will. How can they be surprised when their affiliates do it to them?

I see an HDTV antenna in my attic in the near future.

It doesn't make much sense to have a pissing contest over a channel that is free over the air.

I don't know but that looked like a good Dateline episode and it's 31-0 Oregon and UK is beating Ole Miss by 35.

I like how Cox doesn't want to pay more for a product but wants its customers to. Frick Cox.

It's Cox.

They're in negotiations with NBC and didn't get it resolved in time apparently.

I think cox just made the decision for me. I'm calling tomorrow to cancel. Getting an hd antenna for local channels and going to try slingtv out. Frick cox. What's the point of paying for cable if you can't even get free channels.

My sources are saying WVLA is asking for a crazy ridiculous price. They just hired a lot of 'talent' "Fred Hickman and a new sports girl-so they have a regular newscast to compete with WAFB and WBRZ and are trying to take cox to the cleaners. The problem doesn't appear to be Cox. Keep in mind this is the same ownership that cut off their Fox44 signal to DirecTv in negotiations in November. Those customers missed one of the most memorable Saints games in a while, and MLB Playoffs.

Exactly. In the past 15 years, I can't remember WAFB or WBRZ going off air through Cox negotiations. There is a reason WAFB and WBRZ are way ahead professionally compared to WVLA and Fox44 BR.

you must have been out of town exactly 3 years ago.
LINK

Raycom Media announced Friday night it reached an agreement with COX Cable that allowed WAFB-TV to return to the COX lineup.

COX began airing the WAFB signal again at 9:20pm Friday.

The deal also affects WBXH-TV, Bounce TV, and several Raycom-owned television stations in other states.

WAFB was removed from the COX lineup on January 1st when the old contract between the two companies expired.

I appreciate that this is not really COX's fault, but it is so damn frustrating with all we pay for their mediocre arse product. The company is wholly owned by the Cox family fwiw. I would punch any Cox I saw right in the face.
