The nation’s average price of gasoline has fallen 0.9 cents over the last week and stands at $2.83 per gallon, according to GasBuddy® data compiled from more than 12 million individual price reports covering over 150,000 gas stations across the country. The national average is up 3.9 cents from a month ago and is 21.3 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. The national average price of diesel rose 4.2 cents in the last week and stands at $3.585 per gallon.

In early Monday trade, WTI crude oil was trading down $2.86 per barrel, or 4.4% lower at $62.35 per barrel, still up from $60.68 seen last Monday, while Brent crude oil was down $2.99 per barrel, or 4.3% lower to $66.33, but still up from last Monday’s $63.07 per barrel level. “Oil prices have given up recent gains, following easing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and declining supply disruptions in the U.S. and Kazakhstan,” added Giovanni Staunovo, UBS commodities analyst, in an e-mail.
