If only Trump would give more attention to national issues rather than international.

This is a national issue. It is securing access for American oil companies.

The companies use the American military to get access to oil for shareholder benefit. Just takes paying the politicians.

At least we aren't even hiding it in Venezuela now. We left the same powers in charge just told them to allow the US companies to profit or else we will abduct them next.

We have no issue with a brutal dictatorship as long as US companies benefit.

It is nice to see the US government so open and honest.

How ironic, the gas prices are still lower than under Biden and Harris Administration and we're currently at war.

It’s not ironic at all….Harris was defeated by a landslide as a result of the economy….this one’s on Trump.

Or, and hear Scruffy out, we could have not our problemed a problem that wasn’t our fricking problem.

But, of course, we have to get involved in the shittiest region on the planet that is nowhere near our actual country.

Or, and hear this Scruffy, a nuclear Iran whose entire system of governance and religious beliefs hinges upon initiating armageddon to bring about the return of the 12th Mahdi is most certainly your problem, my problem, and everyone else's problem. This can was created by Jimmy Carter in 1979 and has been kicked down the road by every POTUS since, except Obama, who gave them enough cash to make and all new and even better can.

Once they had nukes, it was a matter of time before they used them. Every other nuclear power has them because they don't want to use them. Iran is unique in that they want nukes so they CAN USE THEM.

I believe this about as much as I believe North Korea is a threat, Iraq and Afghanistan invasions and occupation were to defend the USA, and Britney Spears is a fantastic mother.

This is the same tired “if we don’t do this, it will mean the end of freedom” bullshite that has been used to justify every US action in my near 40 years of life.

Spare me your histrionics.

You were probably on the frontline of demanding the world shut down over Covid with the level of hysteria you are projecting here.

They've been sitting on these so called nukes for a good while now. Did they all of a sudden decide it was time to start popping those bad boys off or has their capabilities been overstated? I know that's never happened before.

gas price tracking is a dumb thing to concern about either way

I 100% agree, I just like reading the comments when... Anyone from either political side makes claims that something is someone's fault only if they don't like that person. I didn't like Biden, but I am not dumb enough to blame everything that happens while a president is in office on that president but then give the president I like a pass.

And this is actually a situation where the oil prices have gone up specifically because of the action of a president, but its temporary.

Diesel would be a lot better thing to track. It impacts our lives and pocketbooks way more.

I thought most everyone would’ve learned this by now and have a lingering bitter taste when it comes to ME wars but there’s still too many people that fall for the same lines over and over again

Oil prices dropped sharply on Monday, with Brent Crude slipping below $90 a barrel as markets reacted to comments from Donald Trump suggesting the U.S. conflict with Iran could soon wind down.

In a phone interview with CBS News, Trump said the military operation was “very complete” and running well ahead of its initial four- to five-week timeline, adding that Iran had effectively lost its navy, communications and air force.

The remarks appeared to calm markets after days of geopolitical tension that had driven crude prices sharply higher. U.S. equities also rebounded, with the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite both rising more than 1% after earlier losses, as investors bet the conflict may not escalate further.

Can't wait to see prices drop 50¢ over night just like they jumped up last week, because that totally happens

Because gas would already be over $4.
