I just think about about how all these families woke up this morning like any other day and now their world had completely crumbled apart. It makes me feel ill knowing there are people right now suffering like this.

I doubt I could ever get over having my elementary age child die in such a way..

You'd think we could at least come up with some sort of grant program (fed or state level) to cover costs of security systems for schools and care centers like electronic locks, cameras, etc.
You could even go as far as cover X amount of extra LEO to reduce patrol areas near schools by half or double amount of LEO in that area.
