NASA puts out a simulated 360 view of some of the exoplanets they found

Pretty neat
But on NASA's Exoplanet Exploration website, you can explore an imagined surface of an alien world via 360-degree, interactive visualizations. As you investigate each planet's surface, you'll discover fascinating features, like the blood-red sky of TRAPPIST-1d, or stand on a hypothetical moon of the massive planet Kepler-16b, which appears larger than either of the planet's two suns. The view from each planet's surface is an artist's impression based on the limited data that is available; no real photos of these planets exist.
The newest planet to feature this 360-degree surface visualization is Kepler-186f, an Earth-size planet orbiting a star much cooler and redder than the Sun. Scientists don't know if Kepler-186f has an atmosphere, but with the NASA visualization tool, you can see how the presence or absence of an atmosphere would change the view of the sky from the planet's surface.

All the 360-degree visualizations are viewable on desktop and mobile devices, or in virtual reality headsets that work with smartphones. You can also peruse travelposters of such distant worlds as Kepler 186f; TRAPPIST-1e, or PSO J318.5-22, where the "nightlife never ends" because the planet doesn't orbit a star, but is instead floating freely through space.

With that many relatively large planets that close together, I would expect wild fluctuations in the tides, as well as the temperature (thanks to frequent eclipses).

Those tidal swings might help keep the planets warm actually. Europa is stretched by Jupiter’s gravity and they think that energy helps keep the ocean under the ice warm enough to not freeze.

Scientists' consensus is that a layer of liquid water exists beneath Europa's surface, and that heat from tidal flexing allows the subsurface ocean to remain liquid.[14][59] Europa's surface temperature averages about 110 K (-160 °C; -260 °F) at the equator and only 50 K (-220 °C; -370 °F) at the poles, keeping Europa's icy crust as hard as granite.[8] The first hints of a subsurface ocean came from theoretical considerations of tidal heating (a consequence of Europa's slightly eccentric orbit and orbital resonance with the other Galilean moons).

I'd still be worried about 15-20 or higher tides being normal. Wouldn't allow us to settle near the water.

I'm really excited for the launch of the James Webb telescope. It should be able to take better readings of these planets' atmospheres once they are found. I just hope it doesn't run into any issues deploying at the Lagrangian point.

I wish we could just get disclosure over with so these bullshite fake stories can be replaced with real discussion of where we stand in the universe, and who else is out there. There is so much we could be doing as a civilization and species, but are being held back.
