Honestly, it's sad as frick that people like you think like this. Do you have any idea what the orthos and neuros are doing for the car wreck mill shops? I guess not. Otherwise you would have made a scumbag, white trash comment. But then again, poor people usually do. LOL

I didn't sell my soul to the devil for money. I do just fine not having to lie on the stand for money. Believe it or not, not a single doctor respects the aforementioned. But then again, considering you are probably a cashier at Circle 7 I don't really know why I am wasting my time responding to you. LOL

LOL. Ok, I'm done for the night and I'm sorry this thread got me fired up. We are just all so sick and tired of the personal injury orthos whores. It's just such a slap in the face to all the doctors who will never sell souls to the scummy personal injury lawyers, and it's the citizens of Louisiana that get fricked by the lawyers and most importantly the doctors.

The amount of ESI's, medial branch blocks and RFI's these opportunists are unnecessarily ordering is unconscionable. What goes around comes around from what I hear.

Yes. It was modified after the initial proposal.

I guess all the scumbag doctors (Ferachi, Scrantz and Mcarthy) will stay in business doing work for the scumbag lawyers like Gordon, Dudley, Spencer, Morris, etc.

It's more offensive that doctors use their medical degrees to make a a frick ton of money at the benefit of Louisiana citizens. Glad I chose another medical path

For every “whore” on the plaintiffs’ side there is one on the defense’s. To ignore that is to be dishonest.

We all want lower car insurance rates, and there are some provisions in the tort reform bill which could push us in that direction (a 2-year window to file suit would significantly reduce the number of suits filed, IMO) Here is your Commissioner of Insurance admitting that he can’t prove that rates will go down.

I’m all for a smart, measured approach to fixing this problem. But to substantially roll back your rights in favor of insurance companies on a wink and a nod from the insurance lobby is not a good way forward.

Yes, there are defense whores, but they pale in comparison. Plus, treating physician's opinions are entitled to greater weight than a defense doctor (assuming the judge will LET you have one [mandatory in federal but subject to showing of "good cause" in Louisiana (and placing one's physical condition at issue is apparently not enough for some judges)]).

Get rid of direct action in 3rd party cases and collateral source and you will get somewhere on premiums.

LOL are you comparing conservative physicians who perform IME's to the scumbag doctors that work cases up to their financial advantage to the detriment of the citizens of Louisiana and their profession? Seriously?

The two are simply incomparable and shows how little knowledge you have of the medical field.

I practice all over the state. I prefer not to narrow it down to preserve my anonymity.

Also, I dont use the whores. I prefer IMEs that will give me the straight dope. If it's legit and my clients owe it, I want to know it.

This guy knows what's up.

I just don't understand how the personal injury lawyers compare working claims up to a conservative IME opinion. I guess after everyone found out about one of our favorite ortho's sourcing medical devices and marking them up astronomically in an effort to bilk insurance companies and tortfeasors is standard practice now and I just simply accepted as normal practice by the ambulance guys.

Luckily, we are getting sick of our profession being tarnished by a few bad actors.

This place is so partisan and Ill informed.

Everyone wanted this bill dead because LABI screwed up the tweeks at the last minute and it allows for five times the damages in some cases. Exactly what Rs didn’t want. But let’s not miss an opportunity to bash the Governor because he has a D next to his name.

The current bill is what the legislature wants. This is really a non-story.

JBE vetoes SB 418 (tort reform), which could have helped lower car insurance in Louisiana

Sorry OP. This bill won’t lower car insurance premiums. I’m all for tort reform, but this bill ain’t doing squat about insurance. If you want some real tort reform, fix the roads, cap soft tissue injury awards, change the evidentiary standard for soft tissue injuries, include attorney fees in offers of judgement, repeal the seat belt gag rule, let a commission vet judges to limit the field before an election. That would lower insurance rates. This bill is just false advertising.

The medical bills argument is comical.

It is nice though to be told to go to the chiropractor after a wreck and it’s free for several months

They let non-attorneys modify the bill at the last minute that screwed up the language on recovery and health insurance. They will try to fix it with the bill currently in the special session.
