My cousin married a girl who is seriously obese. Outside of that, she is kind, likable, great mother and accomplished white-collar job holder.
I don't understand how someone can let themselves go like that but the reality is I also have problems that she probably can't understand why I don't get under control.
Most everyone has issues, her issue is just more visible to others.

Not when talking price of insurance and who has to pick up the slack for extremely un healthy people. They also clog up walking space.

Anyone, regardless of political persuasion, is capable of becoming/being a fat arse. It’s the “fat acceptance, not shaming” attitude which OP detests. And that mindset aligns more with the Left than the Right in my opinion. That’s what perplexes me because the Left also wants free healthcare. It’s one thing to spare someone’s feelings for the sake of political correctness, but it’s another to deny science for the sake of sparing that person’s feelings, and on top of that to then tax everyone who takes better care of themselves to pay for the healthcare of those who won’t/don’t take care of themselves.

Hip bones stick out, but I am only 5'0. 110 is obese on the BMI scale.
