when i was in the 3rd grade i thought that i was gay b/c i could draw. my uncle was, and i kept my room straight. i told my mom, tearing running down my face, she's like "link you've loved girls since before pre-k." yea, i guess she had a point.

My boys also saw it. We just told them that it is something that is gross and that a small group of people do.

In fairness, the genetic code is nowhere close to being fully interpreted.
And of course our knowledge of disease causing genes are more advanced; people want to cure those and have thrown money at the issue.
But if it's solely choice, anyone can run their own personal experiment and "choose" to have (and enjoy) a same sex experience and then "choose" to return to a heterosexual lifestyle.

Depends on the purpose.
The sole purpose of sex in a biblical sense is to reproduce and to join two's flesh as one.
It's my opinion and belief that the homosexual act of sex accomplishes neither. Now that's an opinion, but it's one that I cannot be talked out of. It does not make me hateful toward gays. People can have disagreements with others, and that's ok.
You know the whole "be fruitful and prosper" thing? Impossible under this premise.

It doesn't have to be a conscious choice just because it's not genetic

This thread is a shitshow and I don't really want any part of it, but this is a study I had to report on in college.
Sexuality is not genetic, but rather a function of brain structure or neurological activity.

I think it has to do with childhood development closeness to father and experiences growing up.
I haven't met a gay person yet that had a genuine love and positive relationship with their Dad.
And many if not most have been sexually abused as children...
those scars are life long

On some level, probably. A pedophile at heart is a sadistic sociopath and some of that is almost certainly bad wiring.
