I got a couple $1000 offers on the jacket, but I couldn’t sell it until I heard from Bert Jones. I sold it back to him for the $300 I gave you for it.

The other jacket I got from you that day is now probably worth $300-$400. I gave it away when I sold my collection.

I couldn’t remember the exact price I sold it for. You should see all the vintage watch stuff I scooped up recently. Got a lsu liberty bowl watch along with old watches and watch parts. Guy used to service watches.

I gave you $325 for the two jackets ($300 & $25). I didn’t know you from a hole in the wall, and you wanted to meet in the Target parking lot. There were too many red flags, that’s why my offer was only $325. I had already had gone through these stolen watches, so I was cautious. I didn’t know if they were stolen or what.

I did own the 59 Sugar Bowl watch at one time(58 season). I got it off eBay for $500, I think. It was a coach’s watch. I forget his name. He went on to Nicholls, and I believe the football stadium is named after him.

Edit:
It was Coach Didier. The baseball stadium at Nicholls is named after him.

This was also 10 years ago at least. Times have changed.

Especially the value of LSU collectibles. I think my collection that I sold for around $23,000, would probably bring $30,000-$40,000.

Do you buy collections? I'd like to part ways with some of my collection sometime this summer. I'm in no rush to sell but I would like to keep your contact information just in case.

My grandfather had a bunch of silver coins maybe fake quarters that were celebrating 25 years of victories over Tulane in the 70s. Have you ever seen those.

Not anymore. You can email me and I can get you in contact with people that maybe interested. I started a collectors club years ago. It’s only on FB now and it hidden/private, you won’t be able to find it.

I’m guessing you are talking about LSU collectibles.

You sure they weren’t Mardi Gras doubloons? I’ve seen a bunch of those.

Tulane won in ‘48 and then didn’t win again until ‘73

That was a long dry spell.

I have a business friend who’s a Tulane grad, Class of ‘83.

His undergraduate years at Tulane they went 3-1 versus the Tigers.

It frequently comes up.

From eBay Link

Turns out this broke the curse, in 1973 Tulane won 14-0.

The phone call from Bert Jones was crazy. I couldn’t find his number so I called LSU Sports Information office. I told them what I had, but they wouldn’t give me his number, so they took mine.
A couple hours later I get the call. He was calling from his work and was little defensive when he was talking to me, thinking it was a joke or I was some kind of crazy fanatic.
I described the jacket, and said it was either his or his brother’s. He told me he would call me when he got home, to see if his was missing.
He calls me later and says it was his jacket. His wife did some spring cleaning and donated a bunch of stuff, including his jacket.
He said this wasn’t the first time. On top of a letterman jacket, they received letterman blankets made by Pendleton.
His wife once gave it to the dog to sleep on outside in the dog house.

I love Dr. Strange. He had some cool stuff in his office also. Glad to hear he is still alive. Anybody know how his son Richard is?

Richard is Bo Strange's youngest son.

Antique is talking about David the dentist who’s son is also David.

I believe he lives in South Carolina. He did 12 years ago. I do not know if either Dr Strange’s have passed or not.

Legit cool story.
… made even cooler by the fact that you were dealing with Omega watches.
