Our dog knocks the food out of the bowl onto the ground right next to it and eats it. It's weird

One of my dogs does this with treats to keep it away from the other dog.

I had a little mutt who did this. He would separate his Kibbles & Bits and eat one kind at a time.

MY dog does this when my son is home. He doesn’t give a shite when it’s just me. Lol.

Mine eats his regular dry dog food immediately from the bowl, like there is a world ending comet bearing down on his arse. But give him a bone and he immediately grabs it and prances off to his favorite spot in the yard.

Our dog eats from his bowl but not if anyone is watching. He will stand at the bowl and wait until no one is around.

I have one that does and grabs a few pieces at a time. The other two eat from the bowl.

Had a dog that grew up in the country. I'd throw him doggy snacks, and if he didn't eat them right then, he'd head outside and bury them in leaves by an oak tree.

When I had to move into an apartment in the city, I ended up finding uneaten snacks in the corners of each room.

Miss that little guy.

My Golden Retriever is the same way with both his food and water.

When I was growing up my family's rat terrier would do what the OP was describing. She was the second runt of the litter, so I always imagined it had something to do with her wanting to run off with her food before an alpha could take it.

Interestingly enough my dog used to do this all the time BEFORE we got our second dog. Now she eats at her bowl like a normal mutt

My dog does this in addition to sucking all of our blankets 24/7. He also loves to torment our female dog who will eat anything and everything by dropping pieces in front of her and then eating them as she gets close.

My oldest is an 8 year old English Bulldog and I can not have couch pillows because she "suckles" every corner until they are all ruined.

Our beta dog let's the our cat eat his food. Out alpha has to run her off so nico can eat. But the cat always gets some.

Yes. Solved it by putting him on the laundry room to eat with the door closed. His preferred eating spot was a kibble at a time on or around his bed.
