My dad died last May of colon cancer. He was 58, I am 33. The first year after they die sucks so bad. You have to go through all the firsts with him not there. Today is my moms birthday and it's flipping terrible, holidays sucked too !

Enjoy all the time you have with your family and make amends with the relationships you can.

Lost my dad two days ago, miss him dearly already. One of the smartest men I've ever known, definitely the toughest. These next few days are going to be brutal. Worst feeling I've ever felt
Asking for thoughts and prayers

love you dad

Boo hoo. Mine died 31 years ago last week. I am older than he was. Appreciate your life

Not sure I believe you. I lost mine 46 years at the end of January, when I was 9 and I'm not a prick about it like you are. Grow up.

My dad died 10 years ago when he was 49. My wife and I are checking in to the hospital tonight at 8 to induce labor for our first child. It's a boy, and he has the same first name as my dad (and me). I couldn't sleep last night because I kept thinking about how awesome my dad was with kids and that my son will never get to meet his granddad. My son will know every single thing/story about his granddad though and everything my dad taught me will be passed on to his grandson

Love you loved ones regardless of any lingering upsets. If you lose them it hits heavy the upsets were silly compared to losing the loved one.

Agree with the OP.

Trust you are now living your memories of the best of times and remembering only those.

That's cool man. My youngest son (18) is named after my dad. His birthday is actually 2 days before my dad's. Somehow, that kid is more like my dad that I ever was. Brings a tear to my eye that none of my kids ever had a chance to know him.

Father passed away when I was eight, memories are starting to be hard to come by. My mom passed away three years ago and i still think of her everyday. I'd do anything to get another day with either one of them.
