Typical lawyers advice. Your neighbor smokes? Sue the shite out of the landlord because they are the one with money. Landlords best option? Invade privacy of neighbor and force her to stop a legal activity in her home because of a third parties wishes.

Had this problem when I moved in an upstairs apartment one time. Brand new complex, but the old woman that moved into the one below me smoked and it made my apartment smell horrible. About a month after she moved in, they replaced all her carpets and the only time I ever saw her smoke was outside after that. Glad the apartment complex handled that situation.

Not everyone lives in Baton Rouge. HOA's and condos in the urban areas of real cities are pretty damn common.
Note: I have no idea if this guy lives in Baton Rouge.

I'd invest in an air purifier and place it near the area that has the odor. Mine works great if we have kitchen odors from cooking. This along with burning a scented candle in the condo should help IMO.
