Sometime in the past year, we bought a new trash can for our kitchen. One of the "Simple Human" brand ones, they have size specific bags that fit them. I was very skeptical and worried of having to buy a specific bag for can (you can still use the 13 gal tall kitchen bags in most stores). I can now report, it is great. The only way I can describe is when you remove the bag, the trash comes out in a rectangle the size of the can. No wasted space. With the previous can, we would change a bag about every 2-3 days. Now that number is down to about 1-2 per week, so the extra cost is offset.

you do know that if you simply push the trash down a bit when it appears full, you'll magically create more space more often than not.

to be fair, they make it tight fit on purpose because people drop heavy shite in and smash down on stuff to fit more in and the tight fit keeps it from slipping
