Even a young healthy vibrant 600lb woman can drop dead. You just can’t take life for granted.

A friend working Covid ICU in NOLA last March/April had one in her early 20's that big. He'd never seen anything like it before in NOLA, in or out of a hospital. Of course, hypertension to the max and Type II Diabetes.

That fricking show put me off of pizza for a lifetime.

There's a giant gulf between eating 2 or 3 pieces of pizza and cleaning out 2 or 3 Dominos Pizza restaurants.

I've always thought/said that being/getting that big doesn't happen just with a single person's efforts. It takes a few enablers around to hit fricking 600 pounds. If you're too damn fat to get off the couch, you don't get a say on what you eat. It is salad and fricking water for your lard arse until you can at least waddle your arse to the kitchen, and I'd be feeding you with a long stick to keep your hangry arse from grabbing hold of me.

Hell, how do they take a shite?

I don't see that thing waddling to the throne. Would probably shatter under the strain anyway.

I have a feeling that a lot of childhood obesity (that persists into adulthood) is tied to the over-structuring of childhood playtime.

Schools scaled back PE to put more emphasis on academics.

Parents started "helicoptering" over their children, driving them to their friends' houses rather than giving their children bikes to take themselves to their friends houses.

Keeping kids indoors rather than encouraging them to go outside.

As the weight becomes harder and harder to get off, the children's self-image and self-esteem take a nosedive. They develop depressive symptoms, which only exacerbate their need to eat comfort food. And regretful parents begin enabling their children as a means of dealing with their own trauma over their poor parenting.

I think commercialization of food and dog shite parents feed their kids is the issue

There was junk food in the 50s, 60s, and 70s.

Also, emotional eating. People are depressed from not being outside so they eat.
It’s not PC to hurt feelings anymore, so if you tell your fat kid to go outside, someone calls CPS on you.

Actually, in one episode, a woman broke the toilet while she was sitting on it.

This is just a result of the times. You can't just let your kids ride their bike around the neighborhood like you could do as a child. Too many wierdos out there.

People eat fast food multiple times a week in 50s?

So, it isn't the food itself, but the behaviors and attitudes people have developed in association with those foods. That's my point.
