There was an incredible decline in the murder rate during the 1990s. The 1990s weren't violent, it was simply when we stopped killing each other at levels since the mid-to-late 1960s.

Yeah, not sure what's going on in Charlotte. Odd large spike.

But whatever, I'm an upper middle class white male who doesn't deal drugs or belong to a gang, so the murder rate is basically inconsequential to me.

If it starts affecting nice parts of town, I'll start caring. Sad, maybe, but true.
