And why did it take the cops 30 minutes to get there to stop him?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Apparently they were going through a shift change at the time.
Why are people jumping on that being the reason? The article says that the shift change was why they were able to send a LOT of cops out there...the shift change doesn't seem to be relevant to the amount of time it took. It says it took them about an hour to actually arrest the kid...not to get there.
Am I missing something?

So the suspect is 16 years old, and was tackled by an assistant principal

how do you stab 20 people in a crowded school without ANYONE stopping you?
This is exactly what I was thinking. After the first stabbing how does nobody pick something up and hit the dude with it or something. A lot more can be done to stop a knife than a gun.
knives are scary as hell and can be hard to deal with for law enforcement
seriously, there is a video of a dude with a knife and like 5-6 police officers with guns drawn. the dude kills like 3 cops
it's a lot harder than it would seem

No deaths though right? It's a real shame to think your kids can't even go to school without a risk of this happening

Holy shite, just watched that. Damn.
Killed one, slashed two others. And the one he killed looked like it was just one slash across the neck. Crazy.

Google "cops versus knife" and scroll down to the Liveleak link. Happened in Nicaragua.

yea it was nuts
you can read all sorts of things about knife confrontations and protocols and stuff
there are a lot of cops who say they'd much rather face off with a guy armed with a gun than a knife
