It’s been well documented that once you stop drinking you BAC hasn’t peeked for at least another hour after that

Of course that would motivate them. I know plenty of cops that openly talk about getting “overtime” pay when they write DWI’s. None of the ones I know care about safety. That’s not what I say, that’s coming from the cops

according to your posts
what's the common denominator here ?

With the options available today there's no excuse to get a DUI.

Drunks and crooked cops. Yeah, ok. You sound like you’re on the board of your local MADD chapter. You take everything I say to a massive and incorrect place.

You're the one saying that cops you know have admitted to you they're just doing it to make overtime, and then you're defending your little pal that got a drunk driving charge, having to go to AA meetings
Do I want to see drunk driving enforced and the people who violate those laws after being found guilty punished to the fullest extent of the law?
yes
If you think that makes me a board member of MADD, well, I've missed all the meetings. Perhaps I need to be kicked off the board
it won't change my opinion

I am beginning to think the county wants dwi’s
Do you have children? A wife you love? ANYBODY you don't want to lose, let alone to a fool that drove drunk and killed them? How could someone feel like getting drunks off the road is a bad thing?

thinking when a cop arrests someone for DWI, the first thing that crosses their mind is “man, I just made the road safer
I think that you are wrong, but why should we care what reason is in mind when they are doing the work which WE send them to do?
The simple fact is that you are clearly feeling threatened by our societal requirement that driving be done only by sober people.
I wonder why that might be...

So you hang out with drunks and crooked cops,
How does the earning of overtime while doing the job required by our societal system cause an officer to be crooked?
I am less concerned that the officer is motivated by how WE choose to pay the officer for those services than I am that the rules are followed and that the violation is true and properly conducted.

The OP was the one that made the assertion that these cops don't care about safety
they just do it for the overtime
and according to him, they've admitted this to him
That would make them crooked cops
Doing the job only to make money off of it and not doing their sworn duty, you know officers take an oath to the laws of the state and the constitution as they perform their job,
Admitting that you're only doing it for the money is violating their oath, in my opinion, that makes you crooked
But I'm using the OPs statements he's the one saying these cops have admitted they're only doing it for the overtime

Your post history indicates that you have quite a bit of disdain for LEOs. Do you honestly “know plenty of cops”?
