My wife’s dad is very traditional and old school and my wife is such a daddy’s girl so she didn’t have the heart to break his. We moved in the day we got home from our honeymoon.
We were fricking for six years before though

I was 34, he was 43.
He had to move across the country for a job and it took him a year and a half of long distance to invite me
We're engaged now, but I can't imagine agreeing to spend my life with another person without living with them first. I feel like you can't REALLY know a person until you share a bathroom with them.

We moved in together when we got engaged to save money. We lived a mile from each other so it was kind of stupid to pay 2 rents. I think I was 25-26.

lot a truth in that statement, a popular saying is "the key to a happy marriage is separate bathrooms!"

Baptists and old mawmaws may turn their nose, but this is the smart thing to do
Because it'll let you see if you are REALLY compatible before you tie the knot and brings kids into it.
Can save lots of money and much heartache down the road.

She was complaining I wouldn't move in with her in front of her dad and I said I would never disrespect your father by moving in with you before we are married and he said you are more than welcome to move in with her I don't care. Kinda put me on the spot.

He probably knew.
I asked my now in laws for permission to propose while we were sitting at our dining room table.

Honestly, I don't even remember asking her to move in. Her stuff just started appearing.

I think I was 34. IMO every couple should live together before they get married. Only real way to figure out if you both can deal with each other's shite for the rest of your lives.

shacked up with a girl for a while, many years ago, parted amicably, remained a reliable booty call, but she left a few things at my house, one night I had OT 9.9 over and was moving in for the kill and she saw some of the ex's stuff there and it blocked me for that night, I had all of that stuff packed up and delivered to the ex before noon the next day

t what age did you baws move in with your significant other
We married in 1999, I was 33, my wife 26 at the time
moving in before marriage is done all the time...but I don't think it builds trust, values one another, or the marriage...it takes away it being special. I mean why have a big wedding if you're already living together?
it's basically renting a car for months sometimes years and then deciding to buy it...no one is interested in you getting all dressed up to buy your old car.
