North Carolina is #1 on our list. Friends are out in the Asheville area (a remote place about 30m away), and it’s like a dream land out there. The rolling mountains.. Man, I love it. Too many people are catching on to the beauty of NC.

When I was approached to move to texas for work 10 years ago I almost didn’t take the job because I never thought I’d leave Louisiana. Thank God I left!

What about folks on SSDI (disabled),can they live up there on social security $$$? What's the cost of living situation?
