Made my day!!! Give that horse a biscuit!!! Police need some kind of siren or whistle to get people out of the way, but I wonder how that would affect the horse? Great job.

Has nothing to do with how good of shape he is in. An Adrenalin rush cause the out of breath, heart beats faster and you need more oxygen, so you are out of breath.

Curious as to whether horses wear special horseshoes for concrete. The metal ones are very slippery.

Yeah I agree. Like some kind of police light on the officers helmet. There has to be some pitch of a sound a siren can be made of that doesnt mess with the horse, but effectively gets humans attention. Needed in a place like that.

Go hop on a horse and just try to get it to straight let alone maneuver through a drunken crowd, traffic and construction obstacles. The NOPD mounted division is the single most productive unit in maintaining law and order in the Quarter. They can shut shite down with the quickness.

How enlightening this thread has been.
I found out that the OT is populated with city slickers that know nothing about horses.
My middle school girlfriend would have blown yalls mind. Yall think some guy barely trotting is amazing. No galloping, no jumps....just very slow riding.
