I figured Oak Cliff would be gentrifying by now.
I think parts of it are. My cousin has renovated an historic home in Oak Cliff.
If you work downtown Dallas, Oak Cliff is only a few minutes commute. I had a bachelor friend I worked with bought one of those historical homes - after a few too many burglaries he sold at a loss and move to the Park Cities.

Did they move Dallas to Louisiana?

My cousin and her husband lived in oak cliff when her husband was at SMU law school and we went over there for thanksgiving and I thought I was going to be on COPS. This was in 2012 so I imagine it’s even worse now. Once he graduated they got the hell out of there.

East oak Cliff has always been a war zone. I don't know why this is a story.

It is...but North OakCiff
Kessler Park, Winnetka Heights, Kings Highway. Great neighborhoods.
And Wynndomere
North is nice but too ghetto-adjacent for me.
