Oh there's plenty of stinkers and I'm sure some of them are in terrible areas, but there are plenty that look like they could be nice homes with a little work.

A brand new 1100 square foot modular home that you want built in the triparish area is going to set you back at least 130k. I've been shopping with my wife (no pics) for about a year now for a new home and the prices we've seen for square footage up to 1500 is 180-200k.
Every post in this topic i've seen you make has been worse takes after worse takes.

That is a fake metric. It is not an average of all current mortgages, instead it is a calculation on the payment based on the median existing home price. It is basically just the median existing home price.
Yes, we know this already, Stout.

I dont think so at all. It is 'there are good times and bad times, if you are responsible, disciplined and a little bit driven you can live a very full and fun life in spite of crappy economic times that will always come and go"

Wife (no pics) got an offer in Houston for $235K. Declined offer due to mortgage interest rates and having a 3% mortgage now.
$235k? What the hell is she making now for mortgage rates to be the reason to turn that down?

BUt an entire picture of 1 trillion dollars in credit card debt, many younger people not in workforce or underemployed, the ones buying houses seemingly not being responsible...it kinda paints a picture of a lack of financial prudence.

Setting us up for another mortgage crash. Hello 2009.
Like I said, she see things like that all the time. And even though national the housing market is tending down, her office is still busy. It’s not like it was last year, but they’re still busy. It’s like the banks didn’t learn anything from when the housing bubble burst.

I don't see anything in Auburn AL listed for less than $150k.

Yes, we know this already, Stout.
That's exactly what he described in the title.
And it is a measure of how affordable the housing market is, which is certainly a relevant metric for aspiring home buyers.

Jeebus and Auburn is a shite hole.

So they want a $360K house that I bought at 33 when they are 24? Got it.
When you were buying at that age something like that cost you maybe 200k. Today it’s over 300k.
There is a reason you keep getting downvoted, and it isn’t because there are a bunch of zoomers on the OT. You are just on the wrong side of this topic.

Also that second one has $650 monthly HOA fee. They aren't townhouses they are literally apartments
