Oh. I was thinking something totally different. There used to be a gal in that vicinity that was fond of giving BJs!

Cap'n Dave that poor bastard not only in the sex scam, but also was a suspect in the Jon Benet Ramsey murder. Now he sits front row at First Baptist West Monroe I heard.

I have been to the Honky Tonk at least 200 times and not one of them did they play country music. And I wore normal clothes every time

When it first opened you could not go in dressed in "normal clothes", tennis shoes, ball cap, etc... You had to be dressed nice with hard sole shoes, and if you wor a hat it had to be a cowboy hat. It was a true Honky Tonk for the first year or so.

...if I recall correctly, wasn't she found out near Black Bayou Lake? Very senseless killing if there ever was one....

Found her out in a cotton field. Just horrible what that kid did to her.

More nostalgia: LTI, Jack Hill, opening of Monroe CC, Joe Profit and Calvin Natt, seeing Roger Staubach play for Pensacola Navy when they drilled NLU at Monroe, the Palace, Rialto and Jims theaters. Does anyone else remember the guy who use to sell hot tamales from a bicycle from downtown Monroe on Desiard St.? Best tamales I've ever had.

and a discussion of Monroe nostalgia wouldn't be complete without mentioning one name from years ago...H.M. Poole....
