I just call them colored. Some claim to be red, brown, black, or whatever. So I just say, "yea that colored boy"

My guess is that a it's worded like this to emphasize "person-first" which has been a prominent trend when regarding individuals with disabilities (i.e., more than just that characteristic).

it's also generalized so it applies to asians, latinos, etc

The last person I ever need to hear advice from on how to view sociopolitical events is Mo fricking Isom. No Mo, I will absolutely use rational thought when forming an INFORMED opinion on this case. I'm so tired of hearing dumbass emotional drivel that openly shelves reason and rationality in favor of ignorant sentimentality and theater. No, I have a rational, male left brain and I will use it unapologetically.

The last diversity training I had to sit through told me "people of color" is the preferred term. Did this change again?

Dammit, now I'm gonna have to take another diversity training .....

Her name always made me think she should have been a utility infielder for the Mets.

"Your attention ladies and gentlemen, now entering the game at second base, Mo Isom."

Except that that's the one INF I'd like to shower with.

That and American Negro College Fund always confused me. Are the names just to widely known to try and make them PC now?
