The problem is that the black community, BLM, and SJWs hitch their wagons to the wrong causes. They hitched their wagons to Trayvon Martin, Mike Brown, and all of that before the facts came out. Then the facts come out and people realize they have been hoodwinked. The responses such as looting and destruction do not help public opinion either.
So it definitely has devolved into a boy who cried wolf situation. Maybe if they actually took up worthy causes, there would be traction, but people are righteously being cautious each time a new racial incident springs up in the news or ignoring it all together.
