So why is Louisiana's car insurance so high if we are 13th?

List is shite, everyone knows Louisiana has the worst drivers! I've lived in both states and Mississippi is far from the worst.

I’m also amazed that some states have about 3-4x the number of DUIs.
more drunks driving makes it harder to spot

So...just wondering how this correlates with miles of interstate highway (where drivers travel at much higher speeds with increased volume). Also thinking about how much terrain plays in it. Nebraska...you have no hills and damn few curves.
Looking at interstate miles for the "safest 3"
Mass - 565 miles
Nebraska - 481 miles
Vermont - 320 miles
Vs the "least safe 3"
California - 2,457 miles
Alabama - 1,145 miles
Mississippi - 831 miles
Interstates by State

Seems that interstates would have a pretty low incidence of accidents. I guess speeding comes into play.

After driving in Chicago I call bullshite on Illinois!

And...they’re widening all of the turn lanes, like a bad joke or something. Why? It’s a total nightmare. People get in the fast lane by McD’s to turn left at the Hollywood. Just unreal. My wife think people are being inconsiderate, I think they’re idiot-assholes who absolutely are considering me...and they’re trying to win some arbitrary competition that does not exist. Oh well though, I take Old Spanish Trail to my street.

bullshite
Missouri is #1 and on a different level than the rest. They are f'in horrible here. And you have the losers from Illanoy who can't drive all over St.Louis highways.
bullshite list if Missouri isn't top2

While interstates may have lower incidence of accidents, the consequences would be greater because of speed. Speeding, along with additional miles driven by other cars from out of state (which are applied to their driving miles calculation instead of yours). Also the addition of commercial trucks, can make it a bit worse.
