As high as the river is right now, the likelihood of a body being found w/in 2 miles of the bridge is highly unlikely. Plaquemines point to Donaldsonville might be a more successful search location.

Looking at the Facebook video of the United Cajun Navy helicopter searching, just let’s you see how “not easy” it is to find someone

With the river up, I’d think she could be snagged in the trees too. Lots of areas for a body to get caught in currently.

Maybe she’ll be found safe somewhere. Hate this for those who love her. Be a great ending If she just showed up and had simply taken a sabbatical from life for a few
Days.

Horrible look for BRPD. Officer got the car off the road then didn’t do shite after that.

That guy probably needs to be fired unless there’s things happening behind the scene we aren’t privy to.

So, they find this running vehicle with a wallet, driver's license and cell phone in it, have it towed and don't even try to contact the registered owner. They just ship it to a tow yard.

I'd like to know what investigation took place before the family found the vehicle in the tow yard after having been told the girl didn't show up for class or work. I don't think there was any investigation until the family contacted law enforcement.

I understand wanting to get the vehicle off the bridge for safety reasons. I don't understand going about your merry way thereafter.

Car was found Tuesday night. Is today the first day they've had helicopters and boats searching the river?

Yes apparently. Which is why I think they know what
Happened but aren’t discussing it.

If not, woof, there’s a
Lot to explain.

I think I saw somewhere that they did take the wallet so maybe they were trying to reach out to someone?

It still doesn't make sense that you wouldn't immediately run the plate and make a few phone calls though, especially considering the circumstances of where it was found. It seems so stupid to not dig into an unoccupied running car on the bridge that I'm hoping we don't have the full story.

As so many here like to repeat; "The police have no obligation to assist or help anyone." or similar.

Cop got the road cleared and went back to the donut shop.

If they know what happened, why the delay in not searching the water until today? That still makes no sense. Were they just waiting for the body to show up somewhere?

Car is stopped and running on the bridge on Tuesday night after midnight.
Car is rearended by another vehicle.
Occupant of that car gets out and finds the running vehicle is not occupied and no one is around.
Cops come. Wallet, including DL and cell phone are in the car.
They take the wallet and leave the phone. Car is towed.
Family hears nothing from police. They know nothing until they are notified at some point the next day that the girl didn't show up for work and some other places.
Family locates the phone and finds it in the wrecked car in a tow yard. No contact from police at this time.
Police had the DL, so they know there's a 19 year old girl involved in this in some way. Her belongings were in the vehicle.
As far as we know, the police did not try to contact family or start a search of the water or elsewhere.
Sounds like the family got the police moving on this, but no search until today.
Family says they know she had an argument of some sort with her boyfriend and they believed she may have been headed to her aunt's house based on the GPS entered.

If there was an investigation we don't know about, it better be a good one.

If she was my child, I would be completely livid among many other extreme emotions.

The uncle seems to have taken the lead on getting the word out to look for her. Strangely, there are no reports of anything from the parents. Uncle expressed they are too upset. That's another strange part of this story in a way.

ETA: Correction: The Advocate has pictures of her father participating in a search.

Father is on the left. Uncle is on the right.

There are other photos on this page.
