If it's a certified letter it's probably jury duty. Subpoena, warrant or lawsuit would be hand delivered, not sent by certified mail.
This. It is very unlikely that a lawsuit would be sent certified mail. The vast majority have to be served by a process server (usually with the Sheriff's office). Only exception I can think of is maybe a lawsuit from another state that was served via long-arm statute.
Could be jury duty. I'm not sure who send those out though. Seems like it would be the clerk of court. But I guess it could be the sheriff's office.

It's jury duty. On a day that I am going to be out of town for work.
How understanding is the parish? I ask, because I travel 3 weeks out of the month and am required to be in attendance for my job on jury selection day.

The woman who does the parish one didn't let me out of it when my mom was having surgery and I asked to be excused so I could be at the hospital. She will likely tell you to reschedule your work
