To a large degree.
I'm not sure why the downvotes.. Dr. Sowell wrote on the subject in his book "Black Rednecks and White Liberals".
I did leave out Scottish influence I suppose.
I should have been more specific to it be Northern England and not Europe.

I heard it was more from them learning the diction from the Scottish and Irish slave drivers than from the Poor’s up north.
