frick buying a truck right now, paying MSRP on these things is crazy. Almost 50k for a work base truck.

Exactly.
Now some people are coming off leases, but with the market the way it is they would be far smarter to purchase their current vehicle at the buy out price versus getting something new.
Same for used. Unless you absolutely need a vehicle, and I mean totaled your driver or something, buying now is just dumb.
