I would contribute, but when I think of old-time Metairie, I think of my Cowboys fan uncle watching NASCAR, my chain smoking aunt kissing me with her nasty Virginia Slims breath, my spoiled rotten cousins, and their yapping dachshunds. And the shitty Metairie Mardi Gras parades on Vets.

Some of the Metairie parades aren't that bad considering.

I'm from BR and this list may actually be Kenner in nature:

Paladium (damn cool dance club back in da day)

Right by that on-ramp to get on I-10 going towards Kenner.
Putt putt wasn't by that interstate ramp, it was between Burger King and Don's Seafood hut on Vets b/w Transcontinental and Clearview. There is now an Oschner clinic where it used to be

I forgot about that place. I used to dump a shitload of money into that place every weekend back in the day.

We had a crew of us that would ride our bikes out there during the summer or weekends and would play. We were more than likely playing football or baseball @ Lafreniere otherwise.

TimeSaver on Vets/Neyrey
Clearview Drug Store
There was a Saab/Porsche dealer that went out of business on Vets waaaaaaaay back when. After they closed they left a whole bunch of marketing material in there and that's when I fell in love with Porsche.
