Metaire truck parade advice for tomorrow

I haven't been to the truck parades in years and I got talked into going tomorrow.
Where is a good place to park?
Someone said we should leave Hammond around 5am to get a good spot down there.

I have friends get a spot in Lakeside shopping center..One was able to get a spot where his car was about 100 feet from their standing spot on Severn.. But I would keep to the plan of leaving no later than 5AM.
Anyway that area seems to be good..Using Causeway as any easy way in and out..
