Expand on this if you would please?

This is the correct answer. It is super sorta secret, not many know this is happening there. Many diversions out there....St Francisville etc. Holly Ridge? Sounds like a stage name

I believe it. Probably only have like 5 people working there though. Those AI server racks take butt loads of power.

Gonzales getting a Chi fil a, top that.

I work in the tech industry in West Feliciana Parish and have spoken to someone who is actually affiliated with this project. Yes it is true and yes it is meta that is building next to Entergy. The reason they are building there is because of the power requirements of the data center. From what I was told energy cannot handle yeah power requirements on their grid for the storage center so big cage and Entergy are going in together to build another power plant that will supply more power. It's not going to be nuclear from what I understand it's just going to be another coal plant.
Believe it or not it's coming

Which is exactly why they're building another power plant to handle the power consumption. The energy grid cannot handle the amount of power that these servers are going to pull

Seems like a great thing for the area/state

Holly Ridge project could be up to $10+ billion investment IF it happens.
Look toward the middle of the link for the information.
“ Richland TodayCompany: Laidley, LLC

Yeah. Remember IBM got tax breaks for good, high paying jobs in downtown Baton Rouge. It was a call center.
Ha! Remember when they gave credits for a call center next to Cox…and they couldn’t even find phone callers.

IBM isn’t a call center. It’s a service center for their implementation business. I doubt there are many that go to work in that building since Covid.

It’s a data center. A huge ugly building will take hundreds of acres, a lot of electricity, and hire a couple of dozen people + contracted security and lawn maintenance.
It’s not nothing, but they don’t employ the amount of people you’d think given the size of these facilities. Construction and setup will be a huge boost to the economy. But long term….it’s not a transformational project that will disrupt the current feel of West Feliciana.
Upgrades to the power plant are another story. That could be a nice boost with solid local jobs. I hope they add another reactor there but I am sure they’ll just build a natural gas or coal plant either there or in New Roads. West Fel and Pointe Coupee are both big energy generators. That might expand and bring in 30-50 jobs with solid salaries. Not transformational either but a nice little bump to that area if taken in conjunction with the data center.
Overall it’s good news. But it’s not like an automobile plant or something else that’s labor intensive and truly transforms the area around it.

META data centersLarge data centers can have 100s of high paying positions. That being said, the West Feliciana project may be relatively small.

It’s in a location that’s out of sight and out of mind. Nobody is looking at it for jobs only tax revenue for the parish.

That it will provide plenty of. Sort of like the solar farms.

Heard this project may be dead.
Charles Griffin Attorney filed a lis pendens against the parish and the LLC over the 107 acres potentially in agreement to whichever company would build the data center

He filed it after being encouraged by some local idiots that just wanna hurt the parish president due to his restrictions on residential development
The suit was dismissed and ground breaking is still scheduled for December last I heard.
