Mercedes R320 CDI

Checking one of these out...Wanting something that doesn't eat up as much space as an SUV or Minivan, but still has a 3rd row. Does anyone have any experience with these? In particular, how reliable is the newer 3 liter diesel. The one I'm looking at is an '08 4-matic, btw. Thanks for any input.
ETA: Clarification...this is to replace my wife's 10 year old Odyssey with 200K on it. Oldest kid is 16...so the need for the 3rd row will be pretty non-existent over the next few years...I really like diesels, and found one of these with pretty low miles on it.

It's incredibly ugly, but it's not my car so I don't really care what you do. go for it max.

Can you afford the parts and maintenance for it?

can definitely fit all of your wife's groceries in there while you're out running her errands.

Not unless you want a 3rd row that can only fit your dog.

Looks like Germany after the muslims

An 08 Mercedes? What could possibly go wrong? And that thing is ugly even for mini vans.

I agree with ugly, but I've owned one. One of the best driving vehicles I have ever owned. I had the six-cylinder gas, but the diesel is a solid engine. Stay away from the R500/550.

The Buick Enclave and Ford Explorer are both actually less length than that, and will be way more reliable.

Oh great, a Mercedes minivan. Good luck with that.

If you want an ugly car, get something cheaper.
ETA: There are plenty of midsize SUVs out there. I would keep looking IIWY.
