Wet nurses were common for much the same reason.

If the ability and technology is there to save your wife's body, why wouldn't you take advantage of it?

Are adopted children loved less?

"Artificial wombs are just around the corner."
===============

So if I go around that corner (mind telling me which it is?) I could get an artificial vajay attached to my hand?
That would sure make life simpler. Never did figure out why God put if between their legs...too hard to get to...

The kid won't have both of your genes. Well....that might be a good thing if your wife really wants to go thru this. I think people should only do that route if they can't have kids. Tell her let's go make a baby and that u will buy her a treadmill after the baby is born

So, how would you feel if your wife told you she didn't want to mess up her body with carrying a child and she would rather use a surrogate?

I know one person that used a surrogate. She was in her 40's when she got married and wanted a kid. She also had some hormone issues which only get amplified before and after child birth. For her, it was the right thing to do in my opinion.

Would I be disappointed in my wife if she was unwilling to have a kid herself over stretch marks? sure. But there is a hell of a lot more that women experience than just stretch marks. For those of us that have kids, we know that your wife goes thru hell for 9 months and then it can get worse after child birth. Some women have easy pregnancies and some have a very difficult time. The fact is that no pregnancy is as easy and fun as the commercials on tv have you believe.

She'd be gone if she wanted kids at all, regardless of how she tried to sucker me into it.

Sounds to me like a surrogate would not be a good idea. If you.r wife is so worried about her body, then no children is your best bet.

My Anichka feels this way actually - we discussed it after watching Bill Maher and then VICE together.
