Magnanni. My go-to brand.

Why did you choose them?
Are looking to get a better pair or are you satisfied with these?
How many high end dress shoes do you own?
Same brand?
Collection of brands?

I have a good amount of Magnanni's, Cole Haans, and Steve Madden's simply because they make larger sizes. I'm a size 16 and they've just about always carried my size. Though I can fit into a size 15 Steve Madden.

The Magnanni's were the most expensive pairs at about $3-400, and have served me very well. After 7 years I finally had to put a pair of oxfords out to pasture as the heel was so pronated it was uncomfortable to wear. Only pair that I own that I've hated were a pair of monk straps that to this day are uncomfortable to wear.

I am satisfied with all the brands I own with the slight exception for the Steve Maddens. It sounds like I'm wearing women's heels they are so loud.

I have been pretty loyal to Johnston & Murphy.

I've had a pair of Johnston & Murphy Wingtips since 1996. Lost count of how many times they have been resoled. Completely awesome shoes back then...not sure about their quality these days.

They aren't the same anymore. Most are made in Mexico. They past few pair I've owned lasted maybe a year.

Never really understood the draw to Magnanni.

There are a lot of great shoes out there, and to spend $300 - $500 for something that is not GYW seems kind of crazy to me. Seems like they have had a ton of success state side. Ferragamo is another question mark, for me.

Allen Edmonds 5th Ave and Park Ave. Between work and church, I wear one or the other 6 days a week. They have lasted 8 and 5 years so far and I will probably purchase the same shoes when they give out.
