Just had this happen to my company today. Someone started emailing with one of our clients to have them change payment from check to ach and provided them an account number. Luckily it their it and accounting caught it or we would most likely been out $200 k plus. This is going on all the time now apparently

A couple days ago, A new client sent us a banking form to complete so they can send wire payment. I sent it back. Yesterday morning I get a call from England where my client is based wanting me to provide the banking information over the phone as they wanted to double check. They must have been burned before.
