Pretty much, I only watch local news when there's breaking news that could be interesting (which around New Orleans there rarely is). As far as local meteorologists, it's not the same as it was back in the day. There are no more Nash Roberts, today it's all based on computers instead of instinct and knowledge. There are few real meteorologists left (for example, James Spann). The only reason to watch now would be for eye candy. On the other hand, as evening news ratings go down, morning news ratings have gone up. If a station really wants to please advertisers, having a local morning show is the way to go, sadly most stations haven't caught on to this trend. They put together a shitty morning show that's basically a repeat of what you saw the night before at 10.
