He did one GMC product and a Ford for couple of guys at work, this was two years ago. May or may not be still doing them, but both those trucks are still doing fine

Yes you are correct on dexron. Mobile one synthetic is what we used to stop the shudder and it worked on about 90% of the trucks we used it on.

Everyone telling you 6k and all, but in reality you can do some research and find a reputable transmission shop and they can rebuild yours typically for $2500-4500. You don’t need them to rebuild it for racing, but make sure they use quality parts if you plan on keeping your vehicle long term after this.

I just had this exact thing happen with my '12 Suburban last month. Transmission was shot. Mechanics wanted $6800 to install a new one. Loved that vehicle & guess I was fortunate to get 200k miles out if it.

Problem is the Warranty on the rebuild vs the Reman Unit. GM will give you a 3Yr/100k Part and Labor Warranty that is valid nation wide as long as an auto repair shop or dealer does the install.
What's the warranty if someone rebuilds the trans, 1-2 years max?
