Or "Gene Mean" as Jericho called him.

Great voice and interviewer. I had a toy WWF mic as a kid that played music and sounds. Even had some Mean Gene sound bites in it. He will be missed!

JR is the greatest play by play guy, but Gene is hands down the GOAT backstage guy. You could argue Tony Schiavone was a better backstage interviewer than good ol JR.

JR’s focus in the business was to be selling what was in the ring, which is why Bill Watts loves him so much.

As Watts put it, JR used to have a store and would known how to sell things to stay in business, which is how he approached calling the match.

And Babe Ruth > Mickey Mantle.

JR is an all time great but Solie is THE all time great.

Apples and oranges. That's like comparing Al Michael's to Pam Oliver. Totally different roles.

Damn this sucks. Mean Gene set the standard for wrestling interviewers. Micheal Cole, Coach, and all the talentless bimbos they have now can't hold a candle to him.

Sheik and Jake are the Keith Richards of wrestling.

They may be falling apart but they will outlive all kinds of people.

Sheik was so beaten up around 18 years ago he couldn’t take a bump over the top rope and yet he’s still going, threatening to break B Brian Blair’s back, frick him in the arse, and make him hamble.
