Today was the only thing he's ever accomplished his he political career. In which will ultimately be the one thing that kills his political career.
There were no winners today on either side. Both sides whether you were pro or anti monuments, pro or anti Mitch. No one won.
We're all losers and what an embarrassing day for all of us.
I've had friends, family and business call and text me from all over the country today wondering WTF Was going on. Some were pisssd but most were just laughing at how arse backwards this whole debacle was.
Time will heal for most of us but the misery and troubles are just beginning for Mitch. He made this bed and now he's going to have to sleep in it.
I hope he rots in hell for the rest of his miserable life.

He's sold his soul to the Take 'em Down people.
Now they own him. He's gonna have to go all the way now, go after the street names, go after Jackson...things he really can't do. Or they will turn on him. These 4 statues are just what he's done for them lately.

Mitch Landrieu is now perhaps the most hated man in this state. His political career state wide is over. The only way he could be in public office from this point forward is to run agrainst brother cedric Richmond, and well alll know he would never challenge one of his brothers.

I like how the statues were the one issue that pushed people toward "I'm certainly not considering kicking back NOW" and "THIS is why I'll never spend another dime in that town." So many were willing to accept crime, education issues, street problems, corruption, "sanctuary city," debt issues, absurd home prices, federal prison decrees, and so much more, but it's statues that became the straw that broke the camel's back?
New Orleans was already a liberal island in a sea of southern conservative states and people visiting the city already knew this. Most in Louisiana outside of New Orleans already didn't care for the city and today will do nothing to change that. And that's reciprocal, most in New Orleans turn their noses on the rest of the state and our neighbors. Today was only a very public chapter in the ongoing saga of New Orleans versus the people that already hated New Orleans. Unless, of course, you're part of the group that looked past all other city issues to make statues your pivotal reason to turn on the city.

I'm sure Mayor Landrieu knew his political career was over in this state before he began the proces of removing monuments. He has bigger aspirations but will fail and he'll end up as a lobbyist in D.C
