I lived in Nola for about ten years, a few different parts as well. And guess what? I supported and voted for Landrieu twice in 2006 because I truly believed he would be a good leader but he has proven me flat-arse fricking wrong. Living there long term was a constant deliberation but finally had enough of the bullshite and I have zero regrets. I loved a lot about the city and defended it often in the threads here. I still go there often for work and play but am so disgusted with everything that it's less and less.
So go burn to death in a fricking AIDS dick bonfire you fricking piece of shite.

You're having a meltdown when you voted for Mayor Landrieu? LMAO. You are one ignorant frick. Elections have consequences dipshit. Blame yourself for what's happening.
I'm glad you decided to vote for the Mayor though. We def appreciate it snowflake

If Mitch hadn't mentioned the monuments after the Charleston shooting, they would have never been taken down. That's what pisses me off.

I feel like the people who want the monuments down are uneducated.
New Orleans used to be a place that made people aware of history by having customs. Customs are culture. If you start erasing history and neglecting to educate by bringing awareness, you lose your culture. That's what's happening now.
New Orleans used to have a rich culture that the residents were proud of. Now New Orleans is just a bunch of sjw's and minorities.
Like the special man said, "Let'em have it."
frick New Orleans.

Well, I learned some things with all this. Namely how the local black community has allowed lily white, skinny jean, latte sipper transplants become their masters. Local black leaders have to check in with the Berkeley bunch? I think that's the real story.
I'll also say this, any boycott will not be an immediate impact. Some locals will start then cave. Others will go whole hog. If you live in the city, it's much harder to do. But don't discount the resolve of many who visit from the immediate region. I spoke to someone today in MS, who have visited 20-30 times over the last few decades, and they will never return, and said their friends won't either. (Don't come with that we don't want you anyway stuff - has nothing to do with the economic effect)
But if locals who eat in the city 20 times a year hold fast, then you're talking dollars. Simply put, we don't know what a boycott effect will bring, but it won't be made up by additional tourists. There will be a net loss.
And the City now has lost a lot of political capital in the state. This basically will deep six any future Saints sweetheart deal for a new stadium (not that a broke state or city has any money anyway). In the new NFL, no new stadium - goodbye Saints.
Yes the anti Monument Antifas have their Pyrrhic victory and they are gloating. Yes the pro Monument people are hurt for their city.
NOLA is now a polarizing subject on both sides. No middle ground any more.
I just remember Katrina, where a Navy of private boat owners from outside NOLA risked life and spent their own money to rescue hundreds of flood victims. Many were probably conservatives who voted for Trump or don't believe the statues should have been removed. After the vitriol of Trump and the antagonism of the Take Em Downers, if Katrina happened again, I'd venture to say that quite a few would say "No Thanks, not going there anymore"
If anyone on either side thinks this advanced NOLA in the big picture, no it didn't. FWIW, it's a divided city and region now.

Nah, just watching from afar and laughing at the pathetic mess while stupid pieces of garbage like you celebrate. Enjoy your shithole, it fits you well.

Actually the monuments were on his hidden agenda before he even took office. He just waited until he was a lame duck Mayor before he took action. Brilliant I tell ya!

Watch out for this loon. According to him NOLA is gonna cease to exist. Saints, Pelicans, Corporations, tourists, conventions, street performers, and white flight is gonna destroy the city. This all according to his friend in Mississippi
Posted on 5/19/17 at 11:38 pm to BRgetthenet
Why you wanna know that?

Yeah, CapperVin is some beta male who is getting his kicks tonight.
The Saints are gone in 8 years. Keep denying that. I like the Saints, but not with my tax money.
Unlike the Antifas, many ppl mad at NOLA will speak softly and quietly spend their dollars elsewhere.
CapperVin says it's his sh1thole, not gonna argue with that. People get the government they deserve.
I'm fine. I drive my gas guzzler, don't mind smoke in bars, believe roads are for cars not bikes, and I don't worry about the ice cap melting - hope you know how to swim cap
