No response needed, genius

ETA: Guess I need to explain for the idiots/uninformed. There is no BRSO, there is a BRPD, and there is an EBRSO. So sit miles away and speculate about how you know what's best for here for now. Smoke your weed and take your boyfriends cock, the authorities around here will handle BR and surrounding areas just fine

People need to realize a curfew isn't a hard and fast "don't be out". But if you're stopped you better have a damn good explanation (work, recovery efforts, etc.)

If there is such a manpower shortage they can't enforce a curfew in non flooded areas. It just seems kind of useless outside of the flooded areas.

I like kip and believe he's done a solid job as mayor but he's a lame duck on the backend of his mayoral stent.. We can debate the merits of the curfew but Kip shouldve kept this internal.. No good comes from a public fight between the mayor and the sheriff during such a crisis..

To be honest. Kip is one of the most hated men in power in Baton Rouge.

I just came from volunteering at Celtic a little while ago.

To be quite blunt about it, what's left in those shelters, at this point, are the dregs. People who are treating this as some sort of a vacation. People getting free hot meals and pretty much bitching because it's not filet mignon. Most of the decent people who needed some sort of temporary shelter have moved on.

This curfew is needed if only to keep the people left in the shelters from roaming the streets tonight.

I think this is a bullshite overreach by the Sheriff using a sledgehammer to kill a fly. Not getting with the Mayor was messed up to say the least. If he felt like there needed to be a curfew, he should have gone downtown and pleaded his case to Kip. Pulling an end around was not cool.

I feel lucky PJ, but I've been taking care of the sick for 3 days straight and was looking forward to a night off.

Kip on wbrz
quote:

"I'm the mayor of Baton Rouge, President of the parish," the mayor exclaimed

quote:

"As sheriff, I fully recognize the mayor-president has the authority to call a curfew," the sheriff said. He added, "I have never questioned that authority. However, in my conversations... he has not been willing to [set a curfew]." "I questioned his decision," the sheriff said.
