Mayor Guillory announces new COVID measures for Lafayette Parish

Mayor Dipshit announced the following:

Lafayette City-Parish Hall, the Clifton Chenier Center and the Public Works Administration building are closed to the public.
The 8 p.m. - 6 a.m. parish-wide curfew instated on March 16, 2020 and lifted on May 28, 2020 is reinstated for unaccompanied minors beginning this evening. Minors who work will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Compliance checks will be increased by the Lafayette Police and Fire Departments at bars, restaurants and retailers.
Loitering and gathering outside of facilities, or on public sidewalks downtown Lafayette is prohibited.
Lafayette Consolidated Government will remain open and all employees remain at work. All drive up services will remain open.
Lafayette Consolidated Government is implementing a COVID-19 testing program for its employees, including those who interact with the public.

Lafayette Parish and Acadiana as a whole has been trending in the wrong direction

Speaking with an ER physician tonight, he said that this batch of admits are much less sick than he saw in the first wave.

Yeah I've read that a few places. The coronavirus task force also mentioned how using steroids has really helped patients who were sick so it sounds like they're figuring out how to treat the ones who really need it. We just need to make sure we can keep our hospitals running smoothly.

Apparently they are doing short admits for O2 and high dose IV steroids that couldnt be done at home

Why don’t these dumb mother frickers understand that the more young people that get exposed to the virus the better? It’s the quickest way to build herd immunity. Isolate the people at risk and let the rest of us live! The virus isn’t going to magically go away by social distancing and setting curfews.

It is like the people in AL who are screaming we are having a "second wave". No, you idiots, we are having a first wave because we shut the whole damn state down for 1,000 cases, then reopened. The virus didn't just go away because we made everyone stay home for a month and a half.

Where is the best place to test in Lafayette?
My dad needs testing, but he tried one of the walk in clinics and they told him he would have to wait 6 hours.. which seems beyond absurd.
I think he's looking into some CVS program now..
