An Orleans Parish Criminal District Court judge signed subpoenas Monday morning for three credit card accounts overseen by Mayor-elect LaToya Cantrell as a City Councilwoman according to our partners at The New Orleans Advocate.
The subpoenas, requested by Attorney General Jeff Landry's office, are the first signs that Cantrell's credit card use might rise beyond an issue from her mayoral campaign and become a criminal matter.

Cantrell's office had not received the subpoenas as of Monday afternoon, a spokesman told The New Orleans Advocate.
Cantrell's city-issued credit card usage became an issue when her opponent, Desiree Charbonnet, alleged that Cantrell used the card for personal expenses and unnecessary trips.

Dude. I'm not saying she's criminally guilty of something, but no one gets backed by both the Jeffersons and the Morials without promising a frickton of favors and corruption.
