Went to wholesale mattress on Florida. That place looks like a rat hole but I got a custom made mattress for $650. If I don't like the firmness, he'll change it for me for free and his warranty sounds like it's top notch. If their mattress is half as good as their customer service, I'll be beyond happy.

When I went to LSU there was a decent selection to choose from along Burbank at the end of the semester.

Hood rat mattress factory down Florida just before Brian Harris. Anything else and you're just either scared to go in the crack shack looking place or enjoy paying a fancy stores lease and salesmans suit. I've bought 5 mattresses there and they're all fantastic. Last time I went in there, the guy was messing with his AR-15 on the desk and showed me a couple pistols he has behind there. Oh yeah, I don't recommend trying to rob them.
