Did someone physically force him?

I mean at what point is the person drinking responsible for his actions?

The kid that died holds just as much responsibility.

Not much point in charging him now, pretty sure he’s paid his penance

Too bad physical force isn't the only way to force someone to do something

Is physical force a requirement for negligent homicide? The guy was under 21, was provided with alcohol, and (I assume) was told "you're cut if you don't do this."

Did Gruver not have the intent on becoming a brother? Naquin was setting the hurdles

Like what, coercion, blackmail, extortion? Am I missing something significant here?

I’m not guilty?

Except for the whole federal offense of giving a gun to a minor, unlicensed person with no experince using it.

Youde be toast and probably also get negligence as well.

Think about the girl found guilty last year fir encouraging a boy to commit suicide. All she did was SAY it....

I see all the frat star sympathizers are at it in this thread.

It's over bros. Greek life is going to be ancient history in the next couple decades.

Pretty sure there was zero evidence that Naquin (or anyone) held Gruver down and poured alcohol down his throat.

He did. Are you trying to argue that getting into a fraternity is a crime?

I hate this ruling

They told him he had to drink to make it into the fraternity. They didn’t physically force him nor did they withold him from basic necessity of life

They withheld entrance to a private organization. There should be no guilt for the fraternity memebers

Naquin is not a bad kid.

If I encouraged an innocent soul to drink as much as he could to the point of killing himself and he actually fricking kills himself, I don't know how I could live with myself and look at my family in the eye.

If he really is not a "bad kid", he would've never allowed the situation to get that dangerous and would've stopped earlier. He didn't and he's getting what he deserves.
